Remember, no one can make you inferior without your consent. This is a well known saying by Eleanor Roosevelt. Sometimes it happens, in life that we feel low, depressed, stressed and whatnot.
In this state, we usually blame ourselves for things and make ourselves lonely. To understand other things and how to overcome this “inferiority complex”. We have to understand what it means.
Inferiority complex is a state of inadequacy where we feel ourselves low from others in terms of academics, skills, scores, popularity etc. This is a state where we isolate ourselves and become antisocial.
Why we feel “Inferiority complex “
The main cause why we feel inferiority complex is comparison. The comparison which we do between ourselves and others without thinking that we all are at the same level. We never think about our skills and try to explore them then we start feeling inferiority complex because we blindly see others’ success and didn’t see our growth. We always feel that the other person is scoring higher and having more success than us but we always ignore our success.
From my experience…
Today, I want to share my own experience. When I entered college I felt that I am equal to all my other classmates. After a week or two, we have interviews for the selection of clubs and committee and then slowly and steadily I get to know about others qualities and specialties skills. I tried my best and to become a part of any club and committee. Fortunately, I didn’t get selected in any one of them. Then started my inferiority complex. I was good in studies but there are much better students than me. I felt what I am doing neither I am part of any club or committee nor I am good at studies. At that time I started discovering where I stand and I realised I am much better than others. I discover my skills I started thinking about how to reach their level and I started working on my skill and try to improve what was lacking in me.
This is not the only time when I am feeling inferior to others. My all the neighbours used to play volleyball in the evening. But I didn’t know how to play so I never participated in playing. After some days I realise that I can also play with them if I learn. The day I realised I started playing with them and they with their big hearts starting teaching me how to play
How to get rid of it?
From these small instances in my life, I understood that people are always ready to teach with their big hearts. If they are master in one thing they never say no to teach that. And if they say no it’s ok. In this whole technological world, we have hundred options to learn. We can obviously learn from the internet. When I realise my inferiority Complex in college I started learning from the internet from my friends as much as I can. Try to Grab the opportunity revolving around us this small little opportunity sometimes give us big recognitions. Also try to make friends and try to learn from other’s struggles. As behind every success, there is an untold struggle story.
At last but not least try to create one untold story of your struggle. Try to outshine the world. Be motivated and determined.
HAVE A NICE DAY!
